The 12 hour train from Ayutthaya to Chiang Mai was a little tight for leg room, slightly warm, a little dirty from the soot and we had company from a cockroach but we’d absolutely recommend it. Much more interesting than sitting at an airport and saved on a hotel for the night!

We found a lovely Ramen place to eat at the first night. 79 baht (£1.80) Slightly better than Wagamama!

When in Thailand…. Go to another Wat! This one is called Wat Phra Singh Waramahavihan. It was built in the 14th century and has amazing wood carvings and many vibrant murals.

We strolled around Waroros market which has anything you can imagine from dried fish to a custom made suit. We discovered a fantastic fruit stall where we had some pineapple.

We checked out the most famous bar in Chiang Mai…. Great Chang!

Yesterday we went to Huay Kaew Waterfall. Went to pay and got told it was free just slippery… count us in! It was amazing and the water was a great way to cool down.

Today we did a Thai cooking class! It was with Zabb E Lee cooking school and we can’t recommend it enough. Emm the cooking teacher was… let’s say energetic! She was great and the food we made was lovely. The kitchen is on the edge of Chiang Mai, surrounded by rice fields. She also gave us a tour of the local market where all the ingredients are purchased.

Tonight we’re chilling after a long day of cooking, I don’t know how Gordon Ramsay does it!
