Our Airbnb in Chiang Mai for the last couple of nights was a nice change to have a place to ourselves and be able to cook. Avocado with eggs on toast made a nice change from a 7/11 toastie in the mornings!

We found a lovely park nearby where the locals play lots of different sports. You can also buy a bag of pellets to feed the fish for 10 baht (23p).

We hiked up the famous Monk’s Trail which is a historic pilgrimage route traditionally used by Buddhist monks to travel between the city and Wat Pha Lat, a serene jungle temple, and Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. It is about 5km up to the temple and back. We are so well traveled that we took no water and wore sandals… we made it without any injuries!

Today it was time for another bus journey! It was suppose to take 4.5 hours and in the end only took 2.5 hours because we had Lewis Hamilton behind the wheel on the most winding mountain roads! 2 hours early and £5 a ticket… not bad going!

We have now checked into our hotel in Pai where we are for the next 7 days. It’s easily got the best view we’ve seen from a room and a lovely pool.

Not a bad place for Tasha to celebrate her birthday next Monday! Time to see what this Pai is made of!
